The makers of Abhishek’s debut film Amar have confirmed that Darshan will be playing a short cameo in the film. Its producer Sandesh N recently told Cinema Express, “Since he is part of the turning point in the film, we don’t want to reveal his character, and want to keep it as a suspense.”

Scenes involving Darshan, including a song sequence, were shot for a period of three days. We hear from sources that Darshan’s character in Amar will be crucial and bring about the turning point in the story. Scenes featuring Darshan were shot in various locations in and around Bengaluru, sources say. However, no further details about the star’s role have been revealed.

Directed by Nagashekar, Amar is being bankrolled under the banner Sandesh Productions. The shooting of this film commenced a few weeks ago and is progressing at a rapid pace. Amar’s technical crew comprises Arjun Janya for composing music, Satya Hegde to crank the camera and Sania Sardhariya to design the costumes. The film has Tanya Hope playing the lead opposite Abhishek. A major portion of the film has been shot in Switzerland, from where the team had returned recently. With just around 20% of the shooting yet to be done, it will be filmed in and around Bengaluru, we hear. Amar is reportedly set for release next year.

In the meantime, Darshan is expecting the release of two of his films – Kurukshetra and Yajamana. Both are in the final stages of post-production and may get a release date soon.

In Kurukshetra, which is a historical based on the epic Mahabharata, Darshan plays Duryodhana and the story is told from his perspective. The star’s Yajamana has also reached the post-production mode. While he plays the lead role in the film, it has Rashmika Mandanna playing the woman lead along with Tanya Hope as the second heroine.
