Written by : Digital Native

Tollywood star Allu Arjun’s last release Naa Peru Surya Nall Illu India opened to mixed reviews a couple of months. The star who was in no hurry to sign his next, is reported to have inked the deal to work with Vikram Kumar of Manam fame. The filmmaker is currently busy with the prep work to get this project on to the floors and is assembling his cast and crew.

The industry grapevine is that Vikram Kumar is in talks with the Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman to compose music for this Allu Arjun starrer.

Incidentally, Vikram Kumar and AR Rahman share a good rapport as they have worked together earlier in 24. However, it is not certain if the Oscar winner has given his assent.

Further, we hear that Vikram Kumar is in the process of roping in some Hollywood technicians to work in this project. Popular producer DD Danayya will be producing this venture under his banner DVV Entertainments. Earlier, he had produced Allu Arjun’s films such as Desamuduru, Varudu and Julayi.

On the film, sources say that there is a possibility of it having Allu Arjun in dual roles. However, there is no confirmation on this yet. Touted to be a complete action thriller, this yet to be titled film will have loads of action sequences, we hear. This is the first time Vikram Kumar and Allu Arjun are collaborating for a film; therefore, the expectations are very high.

Director Vikram Kumar made his debut with the English film Silent Scream that went on to win the National Film Award for Best Educational / Motivational / Instructional film. He then directed movies in Tamil as well as Telugu and some of his notable projects include 13b / Yaavarum Nalam and Manam.

His last film release was the Akhil Akkineni starrer Hello which did not do well commercially despite getting positive reviews.
