Controversy’s favorite child Akbaruddin Owaisi has yet again claimed headlines for one of his signature ‘hate’ speeches.

This time, the Telangana MLA has been booked by Bihar police for allegedly using derogatory language against PM Narendra Modi at an election rally in Bihar on Sunday, reports NDTV.

In addition, a senior police officer of Kishanganj, where the rally was being held told the media that Owaisi's speech can also be seen as an attempt to promote enmity amongst people belonging to different religions.

Here is a look at some of the previous incidents when he made news for the wrong reasons.

1. In August 2007, the Hyderabad Police sought clearance from a court to file a case against Akabruddin after he publicly threatened to kill Bangladeshi author Tasleema Nasreen if she ever visited Hyderabad, according to a Rediff report.

2. While speaking at a rally in 2011 held in Kurnool, Owaisi used offensive words against MLAs of the state. The ex-Prime Minister of India, P V Narashimha Rao was also subject of Owasis’s wrath as he said if the ex PM of the country had been alive, he would have killed Rao himself, IBNlive reported.

3. In August 2012, Owaisi claimed that there have been 50,000 riots in independent India and they had claimed more Muslim lives than of people from of any other religion, according to an India TV report.

4. In November the same year, while speaking at a rally in Hyderabad, he used derogatory phrases like "army of impotent people" for the state’s police force. India TV reported that he further challenged the then Chief Minister "to remove the police and then see who has more power."

5. The Andhra Pradesh police issued a notice against Owaisi for his hate speech delivered in Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh on December 22, 2012. The controversial  leader allegedly described present Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "zalim” (tyrant) and "shaitan” (devil) for his alleged involvement in 2002 Gujarat riots, India Today reported.
