Complaint against Suriya withdrawn after woman comes forward to thank actor

Written by : TNM Staff

After a case had been filed against actor Suriya for allegedly assaulting a 21-year old football player in defense of a woman,  the complaint has been withdrawn. This comes after the woman had stepped forward to thank the actor.

The complainant Prem Kumar and his friend Lenin were going to Adyar on their bike to play a game of football when their vehicle rammed into a car on Thiru Vi Ka bridge.  The woman behind the wheel stepped out and the two boys reportedly began harassing and threatening her.

In his complaint, Prem had mentioned that the Singam star who intervened in their argument with the owner of the car, assaulted him and came in support of the woman. The incident led to a huge traffic pile up on one side of the bridge.

"He assumed that we were harassing the lady and slapped me. He didn't even try to find out what was happening there,” Prem said in his complaint.

Suriya’s manager denied any physical assault.
