Veteran actor Mohanlal is all set to make his directorial debut with Barroz and we have an interesting update on the film. The actor-turned-director has roped in child prodigy Lydian Nadhaswaram to compose music for this film.
Lydian, a student of AR Rahman’s music academy, shot to limelight for winning the CBS talent show ‘The World’s Best’ which won him the million dollar prize money. In the program, he played the classical ‘The Flight of the Bumblebee’ in a faster variation, which stunned the judges and the audiences. The boy, who has also appeared in Ellen DeGeneres’ television show, was hailed by AR Rahman as a solo virtuoso.

Reports are that he was chosen to compose the tunes as Barroz is a children’s film and he would be able to strike the right chord with the audiences with his music.
The film is based on Barroz, a Portugese mythical figure, the guardian of Vasco da Gama’s valuable treasures for 400 years. Jijo Punnoose, who introduced 3D to the Indian film audiences with the iconic My Dear Kuttichanthan is penning the story for Barroz. And yes, it will be a 3D film! Mohanlal has also roped in the acclaimed cinematographer KU Mohanan to crank the camera. Being a 3D film, the cinematographer’s role in the making of this project will be big.
Trade sources report that stars from Hollywood and other film industries across the country will be roped in for the film. The shooting of this film is expected to commence in October this year and will be shot in different locations including Goa, Portugal etc. The film will be dubbed in different languages, we hear. Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas is bankrolling this big budget movie.
