Following the failure of “Biriyani” and “Mass Engiru Masilamani”, film maker Venkat Prabhu is pinning his hopes on the sequel to his 2007 cult hit “Chennai 600028”. The 2007 film, had explored the story of friendships against the backdrop of gully cricket.

With the sequel gearing up for release on November 10, its makers are all set to launch the trailer and audio of the film on October 7 in Malaysia.

"Malaysia has always been a land of paradise for Tamil films, where the fans have celebrated every movie with great joy. The land indeed has shared a wonderful rapport with Tamil film industry, where the greatest films have been shot and promoted here. In fact, it boasts of many talents in different aspects of art and cinema that the world is constantly witnessing,” said Venkat Prabhu recently.

Stating that the team of “Chennai 600028: Second Innings” is excited at the prospect of launching the trailer and audio in Malaysia, he added that, “The swelling popularity of Yuvan in this part of the world,” is the reason for launching the film’s soundtrack there.

The film, which stars Jai, Shiva, Premji and Nithiin Satya, features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Abhinay Vaddi, the  grandson of veteran actor Gemini Ganeshan, plays the main antagonist in the film.
