'Bommarillu' fame Bhaskar to direct Akhil Akkineni's next

Akhil Akkineni is gearing up for his next film, report sources in the know. This film will be directed by Bhaskar of Bommarillu fame. The prep work to get this project on to the floors has begun already and we hear that the team is scouting for a suitable heroine to pair up with Akhil. The hunt is on and an official word is expected to be out any time soon. The film will be bankrolled by Allu Arjun’s Geetha Arts.

On the genre of this film, we hear that it will be an emotional family drama. The young star agreed to do the project after the director convinced him with the strong storyline line. Incidentally, Akhil has starred in three films so far but none of them have been able to make a big impact at the box office. Sources say that this project was kick-started only after getting the approval of Akhil’s dad and actor Nagarjuna.

Akhil’s last release was Mr. Majnu, which was directed by Venky Atluri and bankrolled by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Nidhi Agarwal played Akhil’s love interest in the film with the star cast also including Izabelle Leite, Naga Babu, Subbaraju, Rao Ramesh, Jayaprakash, Pavitra Lokesh, Sithara, Priyadarshi Pullikonda, Vidyullekha Raman and Ro Ashika. The rest of the technical crew of this Akhil Akkineni starrer included S Thaman for music, George C Williams for cinematography and Navin Nooli for editing.

Akhil has acted in three films – Akhil, Hello and Mr Majnu – of which Akhil was a fantasy film, while Hello was an action thriller and Mr Majnu was a romantic comedy. His fourth film is touted to be an emotional family drama which means the young actor is set on trying his hands on different genres to prove his acting abilities.
