Bobby Simha joins the cast of Vikram-starrer ‘Chiyaan 60’

Tamil actor Bobby Simha is the latest addition to the star cast of Chiyaan 60. The makers of the film announced the news to fans on Friday. “Happy to announce #bobbysimha joins the gang #Chiyaan60 Welcome Onboard #ChiyaanVikram #DhruvVikram A @karthiksubbarajPadam,” the tweet posted by Seven Screen Studio read. 

Chiyaan 60 is directed by Karthik Subbaraj of Jigarthanda fame, and will star actor Vikram and his son Dhruv Vikram. With this venture, the father-son duo have teamed up for the first time. The production for the much awaited movie commenced this month.  

Chiyaan 60, marks the sixth collaboration between Karthik and Bobby Simha. The 37-year-old actor received the National Award under the category of Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Karthik’s action thriller Jigarthanda. 

Earlier, the makers had announced that actor Simran will be starring opposite Vikram in the film. Prior to Chiyaan 60, the two of them had teamed up for Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram, which is yet to be released. 

The filming is reportedly taking place in parts of Chennai, Goa and Darjeeling. 

Recently, the makers also announced that music composer Santhosh Narayanan will be replacing Anirudh Ravichander, since Anirudh is currently working on other ventures. The action-drama is bankrolled by Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio. The post- production work for the venture is likely to commence later this year.  

Bobby Simha will be seen next in the upcoming Tamil movie Vasantha Mullai, where the actor will be sharing the screen with actor Kashmira Pardeshi. Touted to be a romantic thriller, the project is directed by Ramanan Purushothama. The actor will also be playing the titular role in Seerum Puli, the two-part biopic of Velupillai Prabhakaran. He is also playing pivotal roles in Vallavanukku Vallavan and the highly anticipated Kollywood project, Indian 2. He was last seen in Amazon Prime’s Anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai, where he played the lead role in Karthik Subbaraj’s segment titled, Miracle.
