Actors Biju Menon and Aju Varghese will come together in the film Adhyarathri. The first look of this film is out and we can gather that it is a rural drama. The first look poster shows Biju Menon walk with actor Manoj Guinness, through a rain drenched road, under an umbrella.

Reports are that Biju Menon plays a marriage broker in Adhyarathri with Aju Varghese appearing as his assistant. The film is directed by Jibu Jacob with Sharis Mohammed and Jebin Joseph Antony penning the script.

In an earlier interview to the Times of India, Jibu Jacob said, “It’s based on a set of incidents during a wedding and hence the title Adyarathri. We are currently finalising the rest of the cast and will begin filming by February or March next year. The movie is a family entertainer that will be set entirely in Alappuzha.” Adhyarathri is bankrolled under the banner Central Pictures.

Jibu Jacob, Biju Menon and Aju Varghese have earlier teamed up for the film Vellimoonga a few years ago and it went on to become a big hit. Vellimoonga, a political satire film, was directed by Jibu Jacob and penned by Joji Thomas. Besides Biju Menon and Aju Varghese, it also had in its cast Nikki Galrani, Tini Tom, KPAC Lalitha, Sasi Kalinga, Saju Navodaya, Kalabhavan Shajon, Veena Nair, and Siddique in supporting roles. Asif Ali made an extended cameo in this flick. The film was released on 25 September 2014 in 60 centers across Kerala and turned out to be the highest-grossing Malayalam film that year.

Biju Menon’s last release Sathyam Paranja Viswassikuvo is running in theatres now. The film which tells the story of a bunch of mason workers, has been written by award-winning scriptwriter Sajeev Pazhoor. Actor Samvrutha Sunil, who was last seen in the 2012 film Ayalum Njanum Thammil, made her comeback in the film, playing Biju Menon’s wife Geetha.
