Bengaluru DCP receives 'threat' on Twitter following Mehdi's arrest

The News Minute | December 15, 2014 | 09:25 am IST Deputy commissioner of police, Bengaluru, Abhishek Goyal was sent a message on Twitter threatening him on Saturday, hours after the city police arrested Mehdi Masroor Biswas, the man said to be behind Shami Witness, a pro-Islamic State Twitter handle. Goyal received the message on Saturday night, 'from an apparently pro-IS Twitter handle', reports The Telegraph. @goyal_abhei we will not leave our brothers in your handRevenge is comingwait for our reaction— abouanfal almaghribi (@abouanfal6) December 13, 2014Goyal, one of the two officials who led the operation to arrest Mehdi, told reporters that the threat was "part of the job". "I don't know if it's a serious threat at all and whether it is from any extremist element. But we will seek Twitter's help in identifying the individual or individuals behind it."Goyal also  suggested that a Shami Witness supporter could be behind the 'revenge' tweet, adds The Telegraph.
