BBC gets flak for terming Punjab terror plot as 'gunmen attack'

A BBC news report has had many people in India denouncing the media house for its choice of words over a suspected terror attack on an air force base in Punjab.

The BBC report titled “Gunmen attack India air force base” has not gone down well with many, including government officials and journalists.

Around 9 am, the Indian High Commissioner to Canada Vishnu Prakash tweeted about BBC’s coverage on the attack on the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot, which is close to the border with Pakistan.

After Prakash’s tweet, several others began to quote his tweet:
