National award-winning director Krish Jagarlamudi is making sure that actor Balakrishna’s highly anticipated 100th film, Gauthamiputra Satakarni, doesn’t fall short of creating an epic experience for audiences when it will release later this year.

The movie is being made on a whopping budget of Rs. 75 crore, this biopic on the unsung Satavahana ruler from 1st century AD will go on the floors from June. The makers have zeroed in on the African country Morocco to shoot some of the most important battles scenes from the film, as recreating the same set-up in India is said to be impossible. Krish had finalized some locations in Morocco during his visit earlier this year.

It is also said that the makers have approached the Department of Archaeology to ensure the detailing the period the film is set in is authentic. Also starring veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini as Balakrishna’s mother, the makers are yet to finalize on the leading lady and other members of the supporting cast.
