'Athiran' to be dubbed into Telugu as 'Anukoni Athidhi'

The Malayalam psychological thriller, starring Fahadh Faasil and Sai Pallavi, turned out to be a blockbuster hit following which reports emerged that its dubbed Telugu version will be out soon. On this, the film’s producer told in an interview to the Deccan Chronicle, “The film is very gripping; I believe the story has a wider appeal and can be told in various other languages too. The post-production works are in full swing. Sai Pallavi in Fidaa and Padi Padi Leche Manasu has already charmed Telugu audience with her performance. She’s a performer and commands huge following in Telugu.” The Telugu version is titled Anukoni Athidhi.

Directed by debutant Vivek, Athiran’s technical crew includes music director Jayahari for soundtrack and Ghibran to score the background music while Anu Moothedath had cranked the camera and Ayoob Khan is the editor. It is a psychological thriller with its backdrop being a psychiatric hospital in Ooty.

With the Telugu dubbed version ready to hit the marquee, the producer is gearing up for his next project. Confirming it in the interview, Krishna Kumar said, “It’s a new-age film and the story will cater to all sections of the audience. The cast and crew will be finalised soon.”

On the other hand, Sai Pallavi is currently busy with the Telugu flick Virata Parvam in which she will be sharing screen space with Rana Daggubati. The official launch of Virata Parvam happened some time ago.

\According to reports, Virata Parvam 1992 will be a romantic film, but will also have a lot of action and politics included to make the narration interesting. The film has Rana Daggubati playing a cop while Sai Pallavi will be seen as a naxalite in love with the cop. The film is directed by Venu Udugula of Naadi Needi Oke Kadha fame and is bankrolled by Rana’s father Suresh Babu Daggubati in association with Sudhakar Cherukuri. Suresh Bobbili has been roped in to compose music for this flick.
