The first look poster of Kanni Theevu was unveiled online by actor Arya on Twitter. Releasing the poster, he tweeted, “Here’s the first look of #kannitheevu Looking forward to stunning action sequences from Chellam varumaaa @varusarath All the best to the team @sundarbalu82 @aiswaryadutta6 @ashnazaveri @subikshaoffl @babuklc.”

The poster looks intriguing with the four heroines in the film, Varalaxmi, Aishwarya Dutta, Ashna Zaveri and Subhiksha, in the water with a crocodile lurking close by. According to the film’s director Sundar Balu, the story of Kanni Theevu revolves around four women and how they get to lock horns with the local politicians.
In an interview to the Times of India, Sundar Balu had said much earlier, “The story revolves around these four girls who are friends residing in a housing board colony. They are on a mission to rescue someone who has gotten into a problem. But then, at a crucial juncture, they find themselves trapped in a lake inhabited by a crocodile. They take on the animal, and try to escape from the lake.”
Touted to be an action entertainer, the film will have some daredevilry action sequences and one of it involves the crocodile. On the crocodile action sequence, he pointed out, “We will be using a dummy while shooting the scene, but will be creating the crocodile later using visual effects.” This scene was shot in Kerala, we hear from sources.
The technical crew of Kanni Theevu includes cinematography by Chitti Babu, music by Arrol Corelli and editing by Lawrence Kishore. The director has bankrolled the film under his own banner Krithika Productions.
