Arvind Swamy to star in Tamil remake of Mammootty-starrer Bhaskar the Rascal

Written by : TNM Staff

Things are looking up for actor Arvind Swami in his second film innings. Though he made a sloppy comeback with Mani Ratnam’s “Kadal”, the “Roja” actor was quick to bounce back with last year’s blockbuster “Thani Oruvan”.

Cashing in on the film’s success, Arvind signed onto the Telugu remake, “Dhruva”, which is releasing tomorrow worldwide. The signing streak didn’t stop there for Arvind, with the actor being cast in the sequel to “Sathuranga Vettai”, which also stars Trisha Krishnan.

The latest update is that the actor has been signed on for the Tamil remake of Mammootty-starrer “Bhaskar the Rascal”, which will be directed by Siddique. Initially, it was rumoured that superstar Rajinikanth was signed on for the film, but it now looks like that was nothing more than a rumour that soon fizzled out. It is also believed that Arvind has received a bevy of offers in Telugu cinema, but he isn’t in a hurry to sign projects.

Meanwhile, he has another yet-untitled project in Tamil with director Selva, (not to be confused with Selvaraghavan) lined up.

It’s been a good two years for Arvind, who seems to be going through one of the high phases of his career.
