Telugu movie Arjun Reddy was one of the biggest hits of the year with the film breaking quite a few box office records.

The film did face a lot of controversies and had problems at the censor board as well during its certification. However, it did manage to get positive reviews.

The film’s hit status had prompted filmmakers from the other film industries to vie for its remake rights. With a hit film under his belt, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who made his directorial debut with Arjun Reddy, is gearing up for his next directorial.

The director shares a good bond with veteran filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and the latter had promoted Arjun Reddy so much so that it reached far and wide. Recently, Sandeep met Ram Gopal Varma in Mumbai to discuss his next script and the latter was completely floored, according to what we hear.

RGV not only posted a pic with Sandeep Vanga on his social networking page but also wrote, “Sandeep told me the story of his next film and I am dying with jealousy...’Arjun Reddy’ will be a super flop compared to his next film’s mega-success.”

Arjun Reddy, made on a budget of Rs 5 crore, marked a new era in Tollywood and went on to collect over Rs 50 crore at the box office.

The romantic movie has been hailed as a path-breaking film in Tollywood with critics describing it as a modern version of Devdas. Vijay Deverakonda played the role of a medical student in the film. Shalini Pandey played the female lead in the movie.

Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma is gearing up to get his new film on to the floors later this month. The director had impressed Nagarjuna with a fresh script and the star agreed to hop onboard this project.

This film is touted to hit the silver screens next year. More details about the female lead and the rest of the star cast and crew will be revealed shortly, we hear.
