After his debut film was a flop, Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni had been quite focused on his second film, reportedly rejecting several scripts. Akhil will be teaming up with director Vikram Kumar for his next film, who recently delivered a sci-fi thriller “24” with actor Suriya.

Academy award winning music composer AR Rahman has been roped in to score music for the yet-to-be-titled film, reports Times of India.

The film will be launched on December 12  in Hyderabad and the principal shooting likely to commence from the first week of January.

The movie is said to be a fresh love story and the pre-production work of the film is currently in final stages. Newcomer Mega Akash, who makes her Tollywood debut, stars as the leading lady while yesteryear actress Tabu, who is returning to Telugu cinema after nearly eight years, reportedly plays a pivotal role.

Meanwhile, on December 9  Akhil is set to get engaged to his long-time sweetheart Shriya Bhupal, a Hyderabad-based designer.
