Sony Music had launched a new program called 7UP Madras Gig on their YouTube channel last year. The objective of this program is to promote independent music. While in the first season, musicians from South India including Oorka and Sajith Sathya and film music composers like Santhosh Dhayanidhi, D Imman, Leon James and Vivek-Mervin were part of it, the second series will have Dharan Kumar, Sean Roldan, Keba Jeremiah, Ghibran, Darbuka Siva and AR Ameen.
The Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman took to Twitter to post a video with the caption – “Can you recognise him ?”

Well, it was none other than the legend’s son! AR Ameen has already sung for Rahman's compositions in 2.0 and OK Kanmani. In the 7UP Madras Gig, each season will comprise six audio tracks, six live performance videos, and many music content episodes.
It sure will be interesting to see Ameen in action considering the fact that his father is one of the best in the industry.
Ameen has earlier lent his voice to his Oscar-winning music composer father in various movies such as a traditional song 'Maula Wa Sallim', which featured in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions of Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani. AR Ameen has made his Bollywood singing debut in Hindi with Sachin: A Billion Dreams.
D Immam, who is part of the event, told in a statement, “7UP Madras Gig will change the way south listens to music. I am getting an opportunity to create themes to showcase musical and lyrical expression which is purely non-film. I am all set to get on the floor, I am sure my listeners will be surprised.”
7UP Madras Gig as conceived to give music buffs a fresh sound created by the finest talent from the south.
