Anushka opts out of Prabhas’ ‘Saaho’

Written by : TNM

When Prabhas’ next film Saaho was announced, there were speculations that the film would have Anushka Shetty playing his lead pair. But looks like the lady has opted out citing date issues. When the project was announced a few months earlier, Anushka was keen to hop on board but things have changed now.

Sources say that she has signed a Tamil film and it needs her attention right now. With both the films requiring the same call sheet, she has decided to opt out of Saaho. Following this, the team is now scouting for a suitable heroine. Ever since they shared the screen space in Billa in 2009, they were one onscreen pair that movie buffs loved to watch. They came together again to work in Mirchi in 2013 but the biggest ever success they tasted at the box office was with Baahubali: the Beginning in 2015 and Baahubali: The Conclusion this year.

Having worked together in four films with good onscreen chemistry, film buffs were eager for Saaho hoping they would recreate the magic. But this time things did not work out favourably.

Considering the huge popularity of Prabhas post Baahubali, the makers of Saaho have decided to release the film in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. Therefore, the team is looking to cast a suitable heroine popular in all the languages.

Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho is touted to be a complete action entertainer set in the modern era. Hollywood stunt director Kenny Bates known for his work in films such as The Italian Job will be choreographing the stunt sequences while Madhie will be wielding the camera. Sabu Cyril is taking care of the production design and the music director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are composing the tunes.
