Anupama Parameswaran to play lead in Tamil remake of 'Ninnu Kori'

The hit Telugu film Ninnu Kori is all set to be remade in Tamil with Atharva Murali and Anupama Parameswaran roped in to play the lead pair.

Anupama Parameswaran will be reprising the role done by Nivetha Thomas in the original version. In an interview to cinemaexpress.com, Anupama has said, “I am playing a Bharatanatyam artiste in the film and being a classical dancer myself, I think I will be at ease doing that part.” She added, “I'm glad to play the character that Nivetha (Thomas) had essayed brilliantly in the original. It's a challenging role and I'm trying to internalize the emotions of that character. I also understand it's hard not to draw comparisons to her portrayal. Nevertheless, I am trying my best to bring life to that character and not pale in comparison.”

The Tamil remake will be directed by Kannan and bankrolled by Cosmo Kiran.

Ninnu Kori is a romantic drama film that was directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by DVV Danayya under his banner DVV Entertainments. Nani and Nivetha Thomas played the lead pair in the movie with Aadhi Pinisetty, Murali Sharma, Tanikella Bharani, and Prudhviraj also in important roles. The technical crew of this film included Gopi Sunder to compose music for the film, Prawin Pudi to edit and Karthik Ghattamaneni as cinematographer. The film was a massive success at the box office. It was made on a budget Rs 20 crore and went on collect Rs 52 crore.

Besides the Ninnu Kori Tamil remake, Anupama also has Rakshasudu in her kitty. On her role in the film, she said, “It’s a role that carries a lot of intensity and determines the course of the film. I have done extensive research to portray it and dubbed in my own voice to emote better. The Tamil version was well-received by the audience and I’m hoping Rakshasudu will also receive equal acclaim.”
