Anoop Sathyan’s debut directorial launches in Chennai

The shooting of Anoop Sathyan’s directorial starring Dulquer Salmaan has officially launched in Chennai. The film will mark the debut of Anoop Sathyan, son of ace filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad. Bankrolling the project under his banner Wayfarer Films is Dulquer Salmaan, who is also playing the lead role in it.

Currently dubbed as Production No.3, Dulquer Salmaan took to social media and announced the launch of the project, "We at Wayfarer Films in association with M Star Communications are proud to announce our Production No 3. Written and Directed by Anoop Sathyan it stars Suresh Gopi Sir, Shobhana Maam, Kalyani Priyadarshan and yours truly. DoP Mukesh Muraleedharan, Production Designer Dino Shankar, Edited by Toby John,Costume Design Uthara Menon, Music by Alphons Joseph, Lyrics Santhosh Varma & Line ProducerHarris Desom, Stills Momi. We’ve put together a fabulous team and dream of making a very memorable film. Thank you Lal Jose sir for gracing the occasion and switching on our film.#WayfarerFilms #ProductionNo3 (sic)."

Kalyani Priyadarshan is playing the female lead in this entertainer which also has veteran actors Suresh Gopi and Shobana in important roles. The last time Suresh Gopi and Shobana had teamed up together was for Makalkku in 2005.  Earlier, Nazriya Nazim was in talks for the role but for certain reasons, she could not take up the offer and it eventually went to Kalyani. Another veteran actor Urvashi is also part of the cast. Plans are on to release this flick next year.

Along with the project's launch, Dulquer also unveiled the logo of his new production house, Wayfarer Films. Unveiling the logo, Dulquer wrote on Facebook, "Been wracking my brains and everyone else’s for months now ! I’ve finally arrived at a logo I think represents Wayfarer Films ! There’s a little hat tip to a special someone in the logo. Coming to the name, A wayfarer is an explorer. Someone who traverses unknown terrain by foot. I hope we can do that in the cinema we produce and are a part of. I’ve never been more excited about a venture of mine. I really wish to continue to entertain all of you with not just films where I play the lead, but also content I want to back and stories I want to tell. Here’s to new beginnings.”
