Anirudh sings intro song for Santhanam’s film

Written by : TNM

Santhanam’s Sakka Podu Podu Raja has plenty of surprises in store. Firstly, the film marks the debut of actor Simbu as a composer. Known for giving Santhanam his big break in his film Manmadhan over a decade ago, it’s really special that Simbu has agreed to compose music for the film. We were informed by reliable sources that it was at the behest of Santhanam, he even accepted the offer. Secondly, it’s the first time Anirudh will be singing in Simbu’s composition and this is a role reversal of sorts for both of them. Santhanam is overwhelmed that Simbu and Anirudh have teamed up for a song for him.

Speaking about the album, film’s producer and actor VTV Ganesh told Deccan Chronicle: “There are five songs in the album and Anirudh has recorded the opening number. The recording session was wrapped up quickly as Anirudh had to go to London.”

Delving into the details of the song, he said: “Since Ani was busy with his projects, we could record it only recently. STR has invested a lot of time to give a quality album and we will be shooting this song in the US. The specialty of this song is that we have used only live instruments at the recording.”

Interestingly, the album also features a number crooned by Simbu’s father T. Rajendher. The film marks the debut of Vaibhavi Shandilya.
