Amala Paul bags Tamil remake of Bhaskar the Rascal

Written by : TNM

Amala seems to be the first choice for remakes lately. Having signed the Malayalam remake of Queen, Kannada remake of VIP, she has now bagged the leading lady’s role in the Tamil remake of Malayalam blockbuster Bhaskar the Rascal, which will be helmed by Siddique, the director who made the original.

The film stars Arvind Swami in the lead, apart from a host of supporting actors who will be finalised soon. Amala will commence shooting for the film from March-end.

Talking to Times of India, Siddique said: “The basic story-line will be the same, but there will be obvious changes to suit the Tamil sensibilities. Also, the children of the protagonists are younger in the Tamil version with actress Meena's daughter baby Nainika cast as Amala's daughter.” In last year’s Theri, Nainika made a smashing debut as Vijay’s daughter.

Having nearly completed shooting for Sathuranga Vettai 2, Arvind Swami will join the sets of this project from the first week of April. In the interim, he will also complete shooting for his other project Vanangamudi.
