Written by : Digital Native

Akhil Akkineni is in need of a big hit and is working towards it. He made his debut as hero with the Telugu film Akhil which bombed at the box office. His next film Hello, despite some positive reviews, did not do too well at the box office. The young actor is currently busy with the Telugu film Mr Majnu directed by Venky Atluri. The first look and title of this flick was revealed along with a short teaser which is going viral online. The teaser also has an interesting song, the lyrics of which are taken from the hit movies that featured his grandfather A Nageswara Rao and father Nagarjuna.

S Thaman is onboard the project to compose the music. Mr Majnu is being bankrolled by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Nidhi Agarwal has been signed up to play Akhil’s pair in the film. The technical crew of this Akhil Akkineni starrer includes S Thaman for music, George C Williams for cinematography and Navin Nooli for editing.

While Mr Majnu is in progress, we hear that the top filmmaker in Indian cinema Karan Johar is keen on introducing Akhil in Bollywood. Confirming this, Akhil’s dad and actor Nagarjuna said that it is true that Karan Johar had expressed his desire to cast Akhil in one of his ventures twice but Akhil is too young to make his debut in the Hindi film industry.

Nag is reported to have told in an interview, “Karan Johar wants to introduce Akhil in Hindi cinema. He has asked me twice but I told him that Akhil is very young. He needs some more time.”
