Akhil Akkineni's next is with 'Tholi Prema' director

Reports about Akhil Akkineni’s next have surfaced after a lot of speculations about his film career. The youngster’s debut in the film industry was with Sisindri, a film that was centered around him when he was an infant.

Later, he made his debut as hero with the VV Vinayak directorial Akhil. Unfortunately, his debut film turned out to be a box-office dud, prompting him to choose his second film cautiously. Eventually, he went on to star in Hello, which released last year. Directed by Vikram Kumar, the film did not too well at the box-office. This gave rise to speculations about Akhil’s career plans in the future. But it is now clear that he will be back to face the arc lights again.

According to the buzz, he has inked a deal to star in a film that will be directed by Venky Atluri of Tholi Prema fame. Impressed over the way the director had handled Tholi Prema, which hit the silver screens last month, Akhil agreed to star in his upcoming project.

The film will be bankrolled by BVSN Prasad, who had produced Tholi Prema under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. More details about this film such as the heroine, the genre and the rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon, we hear from sources.

Sources in the know say that Akhil Akkineni was in talks with quite a few filmmakers in Tollywood for his third film and eventually decided that Venky Atluri’s script would the right choice. The director’s first film, Tholi Prema, starring Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna made it to the silver screens on February 10 and went on to win positive reviews and success at the box-office.
