Ajith’s 'Viswasam' to be released in Telugu and Kannada

Ajith starrer Viswasam was released in January as a Pongal release last month and now we hear that the Kannada and Telugu dubbed versions will be out later this month or early next. The Kannada version has been titled Jaga Malla, we hear and the title for the Telugu version is expected to be out soon. Sources in the know say that the dubbing rights of the Kannada and Telugu versions have been sold out for a huge sum. Considering the film’s family subject, its makers have decided to release the dubbed versions to cash in on the interest of family audience.

Directed by Siva, Viswasam has Ajith and Nayanthara as the lead pair.  It may be noted here that Ajith and Siva are teaming up for the fourth time with this flick. The movie has already become Ajith's biggest blockbuster and is inching towards Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office.  

The star cast includes Vivek, Robo Shankar, Thambi Ramaiah, Kovai Sarala, Sandhya Janak, Yogi Babu, Kalairani, Bose Venkat, Sujatha Sivakumar, Ramesh Thilak, Jangiri Madhumitha and Namo Narayana. With a bevy of comedy actors in the star cast, the film is sure to be loaded with oodles of humour. D Imman is the music composer of Viswasam and the other core technical crew includes Vetri for camera work and editing by Ruben.

The film is produced by T. G. Thiyagarajan (presenter), Sendhil Thiyagarajan and Arjun Thiyagarajan under the banner Sathya Jyothi Films. According to trade reports, Viswasam crossed the 100 crore club and collected Rs 170 crore at the box office. In week 4, the movie was playing in 208 screens but, in week 5, the screens have been increased to 224. 

It may be noted here that Ajith’s previous release Vivegam was also released in Kannada under the title Commando last year. However, the film incurred a financial loss of Rs 50 crore to the production house. Its Telugu dubbed version was released under the title Vivekam.
