The SS Rajamouli directorial, referred as RRR, is progressing at a brisk pace. The pre-production of this magnum opus is happening now with the lead stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR on a trip to the US for the test shoot under the supervision of SS Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya.

Ever since the announcement of this multi-starrer was made, film buffs have been waiting for more information about it. While there is still no clarity on who would be playing the female leads in the project, reports suggest that Samantha Akkineni may go on to bag a role. The film is being bankrolled by DVV Dhanayya under his banner DVV Entertainments.

On working with SS Rajamouli for the second time, Ram Charan had reportedly told in an interview that when the director approached him to play the role, he never thought twice and immediately agreed to be a part of it, without even listening to the script. Well, that is the level of confidence he has on SS Rajamouli. It is well known that the director’s last outing, the Baahubali franchise, was a massive hit and broke all box office collection records.

The shooting for RRR is expected to begin in August this year with plans to release the film next year. Before the film goes on the floors, Jr NTR will be wrapping up his current project with Trivikram Srinivas while Ram Charan will be done with the Boyapati Srinu film.

It may be mentioned here that Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam is due to hit the silver screens on March 30 amidst a lot of expectations. The rural action entertainer, directed by Sukumar, has Samantha Akkineni paired with Ram Charan for the first time. Incidentally, this is the first time that the hero is playing a rural-based subject in his career.
