After Theri, Mahendran to play key role in Seethakathi

Written by : TNM

Veteran filmmaker Mahendran is getting busier with acting assignments. After impressing everybody with his menacing performance in Vijay’s Theri, he played a minor role in Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu.

The latest update is that he has landed a key role in Vijay Sethupathi’s 25th film Seethakathi, which reunites him with Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom director Balaji Tharaneetharan.

Talking to Times of India, Balaji said: “The film has no hero-heroine type roles. In fact, Vijay Sethupathi, who plays a stage artiste, is not exactly the hero of the film. He plays a key role, though the screen time will be less. But the entire story revolves around his character. Director Mahendran is also playing an important role. As the plot relies on his character, I don't want to reveal anything about his role now."

While the leading lady is yet to be finalised, it has been learnt that actresses Remya Nambeesan, Gayathrie and Oviya will be seen in guest appearances in the film. A leading heroine is being considered for a cameo. Apparently, Vijay Sethupathi is planning to wrap this project in 25 days flat, as he can’t afford to spend more time.
