After ‘Sabash Naidu’, Kamal Haasan to revive ‘Thalaivan Irukkiran’

Written by : TNM

Kamal Haasan may not have had a release this year so far. While his long-delayed Vishwaroopam 2 is slated to hit the screens in December, he might have two releases next year as he plans to revive the currently stalled Sabash Naidu and action-thriller Thalaivan Irukkiran, which he had announced as a Tamil-Hindi bilingual couple of years ago. In his latest interview to a Tamil daily, Haasan has revealed his plans to work on Thalaivan Irukkiran after the release of Vishwaroopam 2 and Sabash Naidu.

According to a statement released during the launch of Thalaivan Irukkiran in 2015, it was announced that the film will be made in Hindi as well and will be titled Amar Hain. While Haasan will play the antagonist, Saif Ali Khan was supposed to play the main lead. Haasan was supposed to return to Bollywood with this project after 18 years and he had planned to write and direct the project. Talking about his role, Haasan had said in a statement in 2015: “My character though not that of a conventional antagonist, would present a point of view that is far from ordinary.”

Currently busy hosting Tamil reality show, Bigg Boss, amid stiff opposition from fringe groups, Haasan will recommence work on Sabash Naidu, a spin-off on the popular character Balram Naidu from Dasavatharam, later this year. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan and Brahmanandam in key roles.
