After Kaatru Veliyidai, Aditi Rao Hydari might reunite with Mani Ratnam

Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai may have been a box-office dud, but it proved that Aditi Rao is a terrific performer. Apparently, the actress has signed yet another project with the Guru filmmaker and will commence work on the project as soon as she wraps Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror.

She was quoted as saying that she is dying to work with Mani Ratnam again. It was also added that she has moved to Chennai and has found a home in Madras Talkies, the production company of Mani Ratnam.

On being part of Madras Talkies, she said Ratnam nurtured her in a challenging environment. “His sets are as beautiful as he is and there is a lot of last-minute improvisation. When I told him I didn’t know the language, he smiled and assured me that this was his problem not mine. He taught me the lines in Tamil too,” she said, adding that if given an opportunity she could write a book on the genius filmmaker and his storytelling techniques. “He will see a cliff and suddenly decide to film there. He’ll push you, nudge you, until you think you’re going to die, but eventually you know that he will be there to catch you.”

Ratnam has already begun script work on his next project. While it’s rumoured to be a multi-starrer and is likely to feature two leading stars, nothing has been made official yet.
