The sequel to 2010 hit flick Pokkiri Raja has been titled Madura Raja. While Pokkiri Raja had Mammootty and Prithviraj in the lead roles, there is a change in the star cast with the latter not being a part of it. Sources in the know say that Prithviraj is busy with a bunch of films including his own directorial Lucifer and therefore, he could not be roped in for Madura Raja.

And here is an interesting update about the star cast of this Vysakh directorial. Tamil actor Jai will be seen playing a pivotal role in the film while Telugu actors Jagapathi Babu and Aadhi have been roped in as well. We hear that Aadhi may be playing the main antagonist in Madura Raja.

There is a long line up for supporting actors in the cast and they include Nedumudi Venu, RK Suresh, Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar, Aju Varghese, Dharmajan Blogatty, Biju Kuttan, Siddique, MR Gopakumar, Kailas, Bala, Manikuttan, Noby, Baiju Ezhupunna, Balachandran Chullikadu, Jayan Cherthala, and Santhosh Keezhattoor.

Just like the first part, Madura Raja has also been planned as a mass commercial entertainer. Udaykrishna, who scripted Pokkiri Raja along with Sibi K Thomas, will be in charge of Madura Raja’s script as well. Incidentally, director Vysakh and Udaykrishna had worked together in the hit movie Pulimurugan and have retained the same technical crew for Madura Raja.

Shaji Kumar will be cranking the camera for the film with Gopi Sundar composing the tunes and John Kutty taking charge at the editing table. Hollywood stunt director Peter Hein, who had choreographed action sequences in several hit movies, has been roped in for Madura Raja.

The shooting of Madura Raja is expected to commence during the first week of August and makers have planned to shoot the movie for around 120 days in a single schedule, say sources. The film is bankrolled by Nelson Ipe under his banner on a big budget.
