Actor Poorna, who made her mark in Sandalwood with the 2009 hit Josh, is eagerly awaiting her upcoming film Suvarna Sundari. Playing one of the three central women characters in the film, the actress has said that the film will be a visual treat for the audiences, boasting great technical excellence. The film is simultaneously being made in both Kannada and Telugu.

“My character has different shades and it is being shot with great technical support… The characters date back to 600 years in the Vijayanagara empire and the detailing of the shots are very unique. It is even about reincarnation,” Poorna told Deccan Chronicle.

Directed by Soorya, who was a journalist, the film is based on the 1957 classic, Suvarna Sundari, which had Akkineni Nageshwara Rao in the lead.

Having made her debut in Sandalwood with the blockbuster hit Josh, directed by Sivamani, Poorna, earlier known as Shamna Kasim, has been looking for a comeback hit and hopes that Suvarna Sundari will deliver it.

Poorna is also playing the female lead in the Tamil film Savarakathi which is directed by GR Adithya and produced by director Mysskin.
