Actor Miya to play journalist in 'Sherlock Toms'

Written by : TNM

Miya, who has played a journalist in earlier films, will be playing one again in Sherlock Toms. Speaking about her role, Miya said, “The earlier films that had me as a journalist never really explored the professional side of it. This movie though will showcase that aspect. Also, Sherlock Toms is a fun movie told through humour - so while my profession is same, the genre is completely different.”

Miya has played a journo in Memories and 32aam Adhyayam 23aam Vakyam and according to her, the role in Sherlock Toms will have a much wider scope.

Director Shafi, when discussing Miya’s role, said, “Miya plays one of the two heroines in the film - the other being Srinda. Miya will be seen as a TV reporter named Shiny Mattumel, who is pivotal to the story.”

Explaining the unique title and the role of the hero played by Biju Menon, the director had said in an interview to the Times of India, “He grew up reading Sherlock Holmes. He always wanted to be a private investigator, and so whatever job he does, he approaches it with the perspective of a detective. The interesting bit is that his work has no connection whatsoever to any investigation."

Produced and distributed by Prem Menon under the banner Global United Media, the film also has Suresh Krishna, Salim Kumar, Shajohn, Rafi and Sohanlal and Vijayaraghavan in the star cast.

Written by Shafi Najim Koya and Sachy, the shooting of Sherlock Toms is progressing at a fast pace. The film crew is expected to announce the release date as soon as they are done with the shooting.
