Yahoo and Gmail maybe banned from official government use

The News Minute | September 13, 2014 | 09:39 am ISTEmail services like Yahoo and Gmail maybe banned from official use to safeguard government data, states a report by The Economic Times. A proposal to this effect will be moved by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) by month-end. Except Ministry of Defence and External Affairs, government communication will be done using the platform of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), sources told The Economic Times. This move comes in the wake of rising cyber crimes and hacking.
