The News Minute| March 6, 2015| 7.30 pm IST“If a state brings some laws we are obliged to obey it. Being a citizen I will do that. I never eat beef and anyway we no one in my house eats beef. We don’t even let it on our house,” this is what actor Suresh Gopi told the media a few days ago as Maharashtra imposed a beef ban.Suresh Gopi has been open about his ambition, he wants to be a central minister and so this statement was seen as one among many to please the BJP.But it has backfired and how!An undated video of the actor in a FM station recording in Dubai in which the actor admits to eating beef has gone viral in Social media.Though it isn’t clear when the video was taken, Suresh Gopi can be clearly heard lamenting that he gained weight after eating beef during a Zurich visit. In the clipping the actor claims that he had taken beef continuously for four days.“When I went to Zurich, there was only beef and pork meat available. I did not eat pork, but all the 4 days I had beef. Then within four days my weight increased from 94 to 97 kg,” he says in the video.Alas, if only the actor known for his dialogue delivery chooses to remain silent at times. Or maybe, he does have an explanation for this one. Suspense prevails. Tweet
