After multiple roadblocks which caused delays, Kamal Haasan-starrer Uttama Villain is finally being released in 1,200 theatres across India on Saturday.It was originally supposed to release on Friday, but after encountering some financial issues, the release of the movie had to be delayed. The film has been cleared for release after the issues between the Thirupathi Bros. and their financiers were sorted out.Addressing a press conference at the Eros International Chennai office today, Actor Sharath Kumar along with N. Lingusamy, spoke about the issue that prevented the film from being released on time.“There are some small issues which came up in the last minute. We sat down and deliberated upon them for 24 hours. The entire directors union, artists association and many individuals supported us. The film industry came together as one unit to help the release. It has already released overseas and we are anxious for it to release here,” actor Sharathkumar told the media.Lingusamy admitted that he himself was a movie buff who enjoyed watching films on the first day at their first show. He asked for the fans’ forgiveness in delaying the release of the film.
