The idea behind designing such a phone was to make a product that would last and satisfy the user’s present and future needs.The future of the mobile industry is looking at phones that are ecologically and socially sustainable. The Puzzle phone is the answer that caters to all user-end problems like reliability, reparability and upgradability.The LCD screen of the phone doubles up as the main body to house the speakers and basic structure with dedicated slots for the battery and camera.Furthermore the phone can be personalized at both operating and hardware levels. Due to the detachable parts there is no need to change phones if there is need to upgrade or repair the device.This will bring an era when users will be able to upgrade not just the OS but the hardware such as the RAM and end the criminal wastage of electronic devices.According to the Verge report, the company designing the phone was established in September 2013 and have been working on the project since 2013. Now they are entering a phase where they can produce prototypes. The report also mentions that the first Puzzlephone will be made available in the second half of 2015 and will be launched with mid-range pricing.
