Prominent Telugu filmmaker V.B Rajendra Prasad no more

The News Minute | January 13, 2015 | 7:50 am ISTPopular Telugu filmmaker V.B Rajendra Prasad, who was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Hyderabad for age-related ailments, breathed his last on Monday, family sources said. He was 82.Rajendra Prasad, who was born Nov 4, 1932 in Gudivada, started his career as a producer.He produced Telugu films such as "Aatma Balam", "Aradhana" and "Antastulu" under the banner Jagapati Arts.In 1971, Prasad made his directorial debut with late actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao-starrer "Dasara Bullodu", which he also produced.Some of his other directed films include "Bangaru Babu", "Pichimaraju" and "Ramakrishnulu".Prasad also directed a few Hindi films such as "Raaste Pyaar Ke" and "Bekaraar".He spent the last few years of his life in the temple he owns here.Prasad is survived by his wife and three sons.
