PhotoMath, an app that solves math expressions on the phone instantly

The News Minute | October 23, 2014 | 06:11 pm IST PhotoMath, a free mobile app, solves mathematical equation instantly on the phone by scanning the math expressions. Launched last week, PhotoMath also displays step-by-step guide on how to solve the equation. Developed by London-based company Microblink, the app is available for iOS and Windows phones for now and the Android version is likely to be launched next year. According to Mashable, PhotoMath is the 'world's first camera calculator' and can solve arithmetic expressions, fractions and decimals, power and roots and simple linear equations. Here is a gif, of PhotoMath being used, uploaded on Imgur. However, the app also comes with its set of limitations. The app can only work with printed text, and will not work on hand written equations, reports Forbes.
