Written by : TNM

Double Oscar Winner A R Rahman, while interacting with the media at the trailer launch of 'Pele' in Mumbai denied reports that he has been approached by the Indian Olympic Association to be a goodwill ambassador for the upcoming Rio Olympics.

Rahman said that he heard it from the press, but nobody has approached him and he hasn't got any official communication from the IOA.

To a question raised about Salman Khan's appointment as goodwill ambassador, which received a lot of flak , the composer defended the actor, and said “Salman is a very popular face, so why not?”

To another question asked if it was right to choose an actor instead of a sportsperson, Rahman said, “Don't ask me, ask the people concerned".

A R Rahman unveiled the trailer and music of ‘Pelé: Birth of a Legend’ at Mumbai on Monday for which he has scored the music. The composer said tgat he has explored Brazilian music for the first time, to give a native touch to the film and thinks that it isn't just a sports movie, but a father-son journey.
