The News Minute| January 27, 2015| 3.00 pm ISTR K Laxman, the man who enthralled generations of Indians with his daily cartoon strip You Said It in the Times of India is no more. Since 1951 The Common Man, RK Laxma’s most iconic creation, had been portraying Indian politics and politicians through the eyes of an artist who saw humour and pathos in situations in India that was missed by most.Laxman who started drawing objects and creatures on the floor and walls of his house in his birthplace Mysore moved on to caricature his teachers and others before settling on the Common Man. The famous novelist R.K. Narayan was his brother.
