Members from the transgender community make up for the entire cast of Kannada film Pumstri

The News Minute | February 2, 2015 | 08:59 am IST The entire cast of Pumstri, a new Kannada movie based on the real life stories of three transgenders, will be formed by transgenders, states a report by Bangalore Mirror. The movie was launched on Saturday. Apart from the actors, two of the co-producers of the movie are also hail from the transgender community. Most of the members of the cast are first time actors and around 25 of them are undergoing training before shooting begins next week, adds the report. Directed by Ajay Kumar, the film will revolve around the real life stories of three transgenders, Chandini, Shobha and Jyothi, who play themselves in the film, with Spandana playing the leading lady. ( Image Source: Pumstri Facebook Page )Kumar has been wanting to make a movie about transgenders for several years now. According to a September 2014 report by The New Indian Express,  Ajay got the idea for the the story when he was just 10 years old. "A few transgenders lived near my house in Kengeri. I used to see people misbehaving with them.
