he News Minute | October 1, 2014 | 12.27 pm ISTIndian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and USA’s National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) inked a deal on Tuesday in Toronto to collaborate in future mars missions and another mission to observe earth.In the sidelines of the International Astronautical Congress the leaders of the two space agencies, K. Radhakrishnan of the ISRO and Charles Bolden of the NASA, held talks and signed two documents to launch a NASA-ISRO satellite mission to observe Earth and establish a pathway for future joint missions to explore Mars, the NASA press release said.A NASA-ISRO Mars Working Group has been decided to be established which will investigate enhanced cooperation between the two agencies. This partnership will yield tangible benefits to both our countries and the world,” said NASA Administrator Charles Bolden.The two agencies have also signed a pact to work together on the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission that is to be launched in 2020. The mission aims to measure changes in the land surface. It will help improve our understanding about the impacts of climate change and causes of natural hazards.
