'The Immortals of Meluha' now available in Portugese has some crazy fan following

Today, not only is it on the minds of many Indians, but will also been known to Brazilians, thanks to a translation of Amish's fictionalised mythology, the Shiva trilogy.The immortals of Meluha, the first book from the trilogy series authored by Amish Tripathi has now been released in Portugese for Brazil, according to Amish’s official fan page on Facebook.The book which is set in the land of the Meluha and starts with the arrival of the Tibetan tribal Shiva created waves in the publishing world when the author signed a $1 million book contract, according the report in NDTV.Although Meluhha's origins and exact location is debated among historians, by fictionalising the history, Amish has made Indian mythology as much part of popular culture, as the Amar Chitra Katha series once was. The book has re-ignited a debate on Indian history and society, discussing the origins of caste, social order, the understanding of good and evil and placing it in the best background of all: mythology.Fans dress up as characters from the book.The report in NDTV also goes on to say that the right of the first edition of the book from the trilogy has been purchased by an American producer. Tweet
