'I am so so sorry', a heart-rending poem for parents who lost their children in Peshawar attack

The News Minute | December 17, 2014 | 03:47 pm IST What seemed to have begun as just another normal day in Pakistan on Tuesday ended in the brutal massacre of 130 school children of Army Public School and Degree College in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan.Whatever said and done now will never be enough for the parents who lost their children, for the families that lost their loved ones, for the young lives that were cut short so brutally, so abruptly. There's anger all around, despise for the men and the organization they belonged from. Nothing ever can justify the killing of the school children. And then there's grief, the kind that pierces the soul, leaving a void so deep, that it becomes impossible to fill. As the world mourns, some are trying to find solace in words, seeking an outlet to express what they feel strongly about. Just Pakistani Things, a Facebook page, recently uploaded a heart-rending poem on its page. The post accompanying the poem reads, "An Indian mother expresses her grief over the unthinkable Peshawar massacre. #PeshawarAttack".May be words will never be enough to sum together what happened it its entirety. May be some can hope to seek comfort in them eventually. I am so so sorry. For the endless years of pain ahead of you. For the endless moment when everything ended. For futures that will never be. For the present that will never end. Take whatever strength I have. You mothers and fathers of Peshawar. My heart beats with you today. As my head hangs in the shame of all humanity. Your children are not coming home today. And I am so so sorry. I am sorry. I am sorry I am part of the problem. Because I am not yet part of the solution. I am sorry your children aren’t coming home today. I am sorry the world still goes on. And time doesn’t stop. Even after your world has endedI am just one mother.Just one distant voice. But I’m raising it today. And I’m saying I’m sorry.Tweet
