An app to help parents track their children

The News Minute| November 18, 2014| 12.25 pm ISTParents can now ensure their children’s safety by tracking them on their phones. A new app called ‘Swaraksha’, which has been launched in the country, will connect parents’ phones to their children’s watches via a GPS tracker that is installed in the watch. The phone numbers of both parents are also fed into the watch, allowing the child to send an alert at the press of a button, in case of an emergency.Developed by i2india, a Bangalore based company; the app is made for both Android and iOS systems. The company has developed the watch that is programmed to be in sync with the app on the parents’ phones at all times. They are also trying to program other wearable accessories that can programmed like the watch.“In light of the growing child safety issues today, we wanted to do something to help parents protect their children better” said Deepam Mishra, CEO of i2india.The company has developed this app by constantly conferring with parent groups as well as schools, to ensure that functionality and user interface are as simple and effective as possible. The app also allows parents to form groups with other parents from the same school, as well as the school authorities themselves.The app has so far been received very well by parent groups and schools. (Image courtesy: New Indian Express)
