Anand Arnold - India’s first bodybuilder who uses a wheelchair

Paralysed below the waist at the age of 15, Anand Arnold has defeated his circumstances to become India’s first bodybuilder who uses a wheelchair.A video by Barcoft TV describes how the 28-year-old found his passion for bodybuilding at the age of 13, but two years later he was diagnosed with spine cancer. After the surgery his lower body was paralysed.After being restricted to the bed for three years, he decided to get back to body building. Speaking of the time he spent on the bed he tells Barcoft TV, “It felt like hell.” He decided not to let his weaknesses hold him down and instead made them his strength. He began his training for body building from his wheelchair and from then on, there was no stopping him. He went on to win 40 titles including several titles of Mr. India, Mr. North India and Mr. Punjab, according to the video. He now wants to inspire others to never give up on their dreams no matter what life throws at them. He says, “I don’t consider my wheelchair a weakness, I have made it my strength.”Watch the video by Barcoft TV here.
