After Mr, Mrs, Ms here comes a gender-neutral title - Mx

Written by : TNM

For the first time, the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is considering adding the honorific "Mx" which is meant to be gender neutral. It will feature alongside Mr, Mrs, Ms or Miss to represent people who are transgenders or those who do not wish to identify their gender. Each year, popularity of new words and terms play a role in the process of choosing new additions to the OED. The Mx honorific has become included so that people can use it on a number of official documents from driving licenses to bank accounts. Royal Bank of Scotland is one of the many banks that have included Mx as an option for its customers since the past year, reported Independent. Single Parent, an American magazine saw the first recorded use of Mx in the year 1977.
