Written by : S. Mahadevan

Speed X is a new phone from the Chinese smartphone maker Zopo launched in India last Friday. This 5-inch phone has a full HD display yielding a screen resolution of 1080x1920p.

A pixel density of 441ppi does sound quite remarkable from the clarity of display point of view. An octa-core MediaTek MT6753 is the main CPU yielding a clocking speed of 1.3GHz. The RAM of this phone is 3GB and the in-built storage is 32GB.

There is an interesting camera setup on this new phone from Zopo. In the phone’s rear, there is a dual sensor set up. The primary sensor is 13MP and the secondary sensor is 2MP. The front selfie camera is again 0f 13MP rating.

Flash support is provided on both the front and the rear. The front camera has a f/2.0 aperture lens. There are also additional features like fixed focus and face beauty mode linked to the front camera.

There are no deficiencies in the connectivity front either. You can enjoy Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity plus 4G VoLTE for good measure. The battery is 2680mAh and is non-removable.

There are some interesting features, in the Zopo Speed X, worth reporting as well.

There is the Indian interest in the artificial intelligence based chatbot Niki.ai. This Indian start-up is funded by Ratan Tata and Zopo has included this app in the phone. The Niki.ai chatbot helps the smartphone user to avail online purchase of products and services including in the areas of travel and other daily needs. The user can just chat with the chatbot to avail the facility.

The other interesting feature is that the Zopo Speed X comes with pre-loaded special keyboards to type in 25 different Indian languages.

Lastly, the fingerprint sensor has a square shape and Zopo claims it works the fastest with just 0.16 seconds required to unlock the device. The company also says that this sensor can identify your fingerprint from any angle with a 360-degree range.

The Zopo Speed X is already on sale in India but it is an online exclusive product and cannot be bought from retail stores. The price of the device is Rs 9, 499.
