Chinese electronics product major Xiaomi has followed through its recent teasers by officially launching a new wearable in India, the Mi Smart Band 3i. It is being positioned as a device made with the Indian market in view. The Mi Smart Band 3i is the successor to the Mi Band HRX.
Now, coming to the new Mi Smart Band 3i, it sports a 1.9cms or 0.78-inch AMOLED display and offers touch support. This is an increase from the 1.2cm display seen on the Mi Band HRX. The battery has also been bumped to 110mAh from 70mAh, and Xiaomi claims the smart band can last as many as 20 days on a single charge.
With regard to the functions, it can track the number of steps you take during the day and the calculate calories burnt. It can also alert you with notifications once you pair it with your smartphone. There is a ‘Find Device’ option on the band itself and it can search and pair with the smartphone you are carrying. Some of the features include water resistance up to 50 metres depth for 10 minutes.
Xiaomi has announced that the pre-orders for this Mi Smart Band 3i has started from November 21 on Mi.com and the price is Rs 1299.
Xiaomi is having it great in India. The company is already the number 1 smart TV seller in the country. Xiaomi also enjoys the largest market share in the mobile phones market in India having overtaken Samsung. Now it turns out it is the No. 1 wearables brand as well, in India (market share -39%). Worldwide, Apple has been the runaway winner with is Apple Watches, but the market is segmented into smartwatches and fitness bands since both have different sets of capabilities and features.
